Happy New Years!

I can't believe it's New Years Eve already! This year has gone by so fast! I haven't had a chance to blog lately, as I have been horribly sick from this pregnancy. I hit 6 weeks on Monday and like clock work, my morning sickness kicked in big time. It woke me up Monday morning and I didn't stop throwing up the entire day. I couldn't keep water down, let alone food. So Tuesday I made a doctors appt. at the Med Clinic and saw an idiot for a doctor. He put me on a medicine called Zofran, which is used for nausea and vomiting. So far, it has NOT helped whatsoever. So Wednesday was the same as Monday and so was Thursday. Except I had had enough come Thursday. I was so sick I couldn't really stand up. I was extremely dehydrated. So we went to the ER and I was put on fluids to get me hydrated. The doctor wanted to do a pelvic exam and an ultrasound to make sure that the baby looked good. We got to see the baby for the first time! It was amazing. Our little peanut has a heartbeat already! So even though I have been sick and miserable for the past week, the highlight was definitely getting to see the baby! I'm feeling a little better today, since I'm not so dehydrated. I'm praying this sickness will eventually go away. I'm only halfway through my first trimester, so I'm REALLY praying the rest of the trimester isn't as bad!

I hope everyone has a fantastic and safe New Years! Wherever in this world you might be, God Bless!

Here's to the Next 8.5 Months

Well, it finally happened! I'm officially prego! Matt and I were trying for a while, then we took some time off. And what do you know? It happens during the time off! I guess not stressing about it really helps! I feel so blessed right now! I'm only a little over 5 weeks, so it is still really early in the pregnancy! I went to the medical clinic on base on Monday and they drew my blood just to make sure. We got the results back yesterday, and they were positive! So my HPT worked correctly! I went today to get more blood work done, but because of the long weekend with it being Christmas, they couldn't draw anymore blood. So I'll go back Monday and start my lab work. I also picked up prenatals prescribed by the doc, instead of my regular ones. So things are starting to get rolling! If my timing is correct, I won't have my first actual doctor appt. until I'm 10-12 weeks, which will be in January sometime! I'm already experiencing first hand the symptoms of pregnancy. I've been sick almost every morning and sometimes through out the day. I keep crackers and water with me at all times; it really does help!

My estimated due date is August 23, 2011! We are both so totally excited and pumped! And we're still getting over the initial shock of actually seeing "Pregnant" on the pee stick, instead of "Not Pregnant". We went and looked at baby stuff and Matt is being soooo stinking cute! He is going to be a great father! We need prayers that our baby will grow to be strong and healthy and we won't have any complications. So if you are reading this, keep us in your prayers! :) And here's to the next 8.5 months!

One Year

It's been about a year since we found out we were moving across the Pacific to a little tiny island of Okinawa. I had just got to work and my work phone rang. I thought it was kind of strange because my shift hadn't even started yet. It was my husband saying he had "news". I was freaking out, because the last time he said that he told me he was deploying to Iraq. And then the words came out of his mouth. "We got orders". And then he told me to where. I had no clue where. All I knew is that it was in Japan. I was so pumped! I was just excited that we could get out of Ohio. We had talked for a while about changing his dream sheet to somewhere besides Wright Patt. We wanted to go to Alaska, or Europe somewhere. But Japan? It was not one of our top choices. Then I Googled Okinawa. And I turned from excited to very excited once I saw all the beaches! Then we had to tell our families.. and that didn't go over very well. Then our friends.. and everyone else. We had to out process from Wright Patt, pack up our whole lives, and say goodbye to our loved ones. All within a matter of a couple months. It was not easy, but I think it's worth it. We don't like being away from our families and friends, but this is an awesome experience, and my husband loves his job! So we might as well make the most of it right?

Needless to say, I can't believe it's been a year since we found out. Our lives have done a huge 180 from a year ago. I can't say it's been the easiest and greatest year of our lives, but it's definitely been a wild one. I don't knows the where the future will take us, but as long as I am with my hubby, I'll go anywhere!

Home Sweet Home!

Well, I want to start off by saying how jealous I am that it is snowing in Ohio! I love this time of year, and the first snow fall is always the most magical, even if it's only a dusting. It's the 2nd of December here, so in my mind, it should be freezing outside and I should be putting on my boots and coat before I go outside. Not today! It is currently 79 degrees outside at 2:30 pm. But it's very humid and feels about 10 degrees hotter than that. I am over this heat. Why can't it just be winter here? I know it's a subtropical island, but c'mon!

Yesterday, I was going back through my old posts on here reading things from when we first got to the island. I had a comment on one post that I hadn't read, and that person wanted to see pictures of our house! I know I posted pictures on facebook of our house when we first got the keys, but there wasn't furniture or decor up. So I figured since it's Christmas time and I have my decorations out (those that I brought with me), I might as well post some pictures! So here ya go!

This is the outside of the house. We only have the bottom floor. Pay no attention to my neighbors who have not mowed their grass in weeks. (They mow the front yard, we mow the back.)

This is as soon as you walk in the front door. Front door is to the right & laundry room is that door you see by the sofa table. Not sure why my mirror has tons of stripes in it.

My sofa table! I love all my snowmen decorations! :)

The hallway. Door on the right is the bathroom. Door straight ahead is my messssy spare bedroom. Door on the left is our bedroom.

Living room. Hallway is to the right.

Living room area. The big metal door is our door to the backyard.

More of the living room.. down the hallway into the entrance way. My walls look so bare!

More of the living room area. The door to the left is our kitchen.

Looking into our kitchen from the living room. The baby gate is for the dogs, I promise I don't have a secret child I haven't told y'all about haha.

My kitchen! It's definitely smaller then my last kitchen, but it works!

More Christmas Decor! My poor little tree. We aren't putting a big one up this year, I'm afraid my dog will eat every ornament we own!

So there is it! My humble abode! It is not the biggest, or nicest place we have ever lived in, but a home is a home. As long as I'm with my hubby & doggies, I don't care where I live!
